Students are responsible for their visas and should make sure to apply for the required travel documents in good time before traveling. Studying in Malta will be amazing, but first you need to take some steps to travel to Malta. One of them is a visa. This is necessary for some non-European countries and citizens of these countries must apply for a student visa. This document is mandatory if you want to stay in Malta for more than 90 days. Some students need a visa to enter the territory of the Maltese islands; This requirement depends on your country of origin.

Pre-arrival visa

Pre-arrival visa This type of visa is required before arriving in Malta. Students who fall into this category CANNOT enter the islands without this visa. 90 days Visa

If a student does NOT fall into the above category, they are eligible for a 90-day visa. This visa allows the student to enter the Schengen area without documentation. This person can stay for a maximum of 90 days, counted from the first day in the Schengen area. If you want to be a student in Malta for more than 90 days, see the following section: Visa extension.

Visa Extension (student)

 
If the student wants to stay here for more than 90 days, they must have a student visa. Students are responsible for their visas and should ensure that they apply for the required travel documents in good time before traveling to Malta. The school will provide a booking confirmation and a visa letter to facilitate the student’s visa application.
The day you request the extension of your visa, you must not forget to have the original and a copy of all the documents. Also check that the dates of all documents match. The extension must be done immediately upon arrival in the country.

Students of all nationalities must request this document if they wish to stay more than 90 days.

School letters
Containing the start and end dates of your course
Completely completed and completed visa application form (obtained from the school)
Sponsorship letter + sponsorship document (when required)

If you do not live at a school residence, you must present:
Apartment contract in the name of the student and signed by the owner

Rental declaration form (obtained from the school)
Copy of the DNI of the apartment owner

Young People Information

  • In the case of minors, it is necessary to provide a bank certificate in the name of the parents and a document indicating that the parents will provide and financially cover the minor.
    Original birth certificate with official translation. Authenticated consent for the minor to leave the country, in English and signed by both parents.
    Letter committing to provide full financial support and coverage, in English and signed by the sponsor, with a photocopy of the sponsor’s identity document and bank statements that verify the availability of the necessary money.

Extra Information

Travel / school vacation breaks are allowed for bookings of more than 8 weeks (bookings of less than 8 weeks do not allow students to take breaks / vacations)

The duration of the trip break depends on the length of the reservation:
Courses from 8 to 23 weeks: 2 weeks vacation
Courses of 24 weeks or more: 4 weeks vacation
Students have the option of taking their vacation / travel breaks at any time during their study period, except during the last week (s) of their stay, as specified by the Maltese Embassy.
If you take a vacation during the period in which you have booked courses, your course booking will be rearranged so that your lessons will resume when you return, so you only pay for the time you actually attend classes, and you do not pay while you are. on your vacation / travel vacation. But if you have booked accommodation and then take a vacation / travel break, your reservation for accommodation cannot be rearranged, so you will still have to pay for accommodation even if you do not live there during your vacation / trip. to break.

  • The currency of the statement must be in euros or a printed copy of the conversation must be attached.
    Students must have enough money to cover their entire stay, that is, € 25 per day if their accommodation is already paid for or € 48 per day if the accommodation is not yet paid for.
    The visa has an associated cost of € 66, which must be paid at the embassy.
